Study this deck
What are some elements of computational thinking?
Problem recognition, Backtracking, Data Mining and Pipelining
What will a computer scientist, when programming a system do?
Determine the outputs required, Determine necessary actions to achieve the outputs Consider the resources neede, Consider user expectations.
What is the need for reusable program components?
Important from a business point of view as well as a tool to support future devlopments.
What are the benefits of thinking ahead?
Increased dependability, reduced process risk, effective use of specialists, Standrads compliance and accelerated development.
What are the draw backs of thinking ahead?
Increased maintenance costs, lack of tool supports, not-invented-here systems. finding, understanding and adpating reusable components.
What is an advantage of caching?
Can reduce load on a web server because data required can be anticipated.
What are the Disadvantages of caching?
Can be hard to impliment and if wrong data is cached it can be difficult to correct sequence of data
What is the consequence of having multicore processors?
programs need to be built to take advantage of this, this is what concurrent thinking is.
