apostrophe
used to create possessive forms, contractions, and some plurals
brackets
used to include explanatory words or phrases within quoted language
colon
used before a list or an explanation that is preceded by a clause that can stand by itself
commas
used to separate the elements in a series, connect two independent clauses, set off introductory elements, or set off parenthetical element
dash
