3rd person camera view
The storyteller records the action from his or her view, being unaware of any of the
characters.
Soliloquy
A speech given by a character when he/she is alone on stage. It is as if the character is thinking
out loud.
Steryotype
A form that does not change. Has no individuality and fits the mold of what that particular kind
of person.
Pathos
(suffering or passion) Usually describes the part in a play that is intended to elicit pity or
sorrow from the audience or reader.
Paradox
A statement that seems contrary to common sense, yet may in fact be true.
Narration
Writing that relates to an event or series of events.
Moral
The particular value of lesson the audience is trying to get across to the reader.
Mood
The feeling the text arouses in the reader.
Memoir
Writing based on the writer's memory of a particular time, place, or incident.
Drama monalogue
A literary work (or part of one) in which a character is speaking about him/herself as if
another were present.
