what is force?
something that causes a change in the motion of an object.
what is work?
Using a force to move an object a distance when both the force and the motion of the object are in
the same direction.
what is power?
the rate of doing work.
newtons third law..
The principle stating that for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.
newtons second law..
The acceleration of an object as produced by a net force is directly proportional to the
magnitude of the net force.
newtons first law..
An object at rest stays at rest and an object in motion stays in motion with the same speed and in
the same direction.
what is weight?
The force of gravity on the object and may be defined as the mass times the acceleration.
what is gravity?
a force which tries to pull two objects toward each other.
what is distance?
a scalar quantity that refers to "how much ground an object has covered" during its motion.
what is displacement?
a vector quantity that refers to "how far out of place an object is"; it is the object's overall
change in position.
what is average speed?
an interval of time is the distance travelled by the object divided by the duration of the
interval.
what is instaneous speed?
When the speed of an object is constantly changing, the instantaneous speed is the speed of an
object at a particular moment in time.
