Newton's Second Law of Motion
5 cards·by jennybakalov
Newton's Second Law
the acceleration of an object is directly proportional to the net force acting on the object,
is in the direction of the net force
Newton's Laws
laws that deal with inertia, force and acceleration, and forces occur in pairs
Newton's first law
a statement about the inertia of objects to change their state of motion; objects at rest
remain at rest unless some force makes them move
Newton's second law
the most important relation in mechanics; a quantitative relation between F and a, F = ma; with
the help of this law, we can define m and F
Newton's third law
all forces occur in pairs, and the interacting bodies exert an equal and opposite force on each
other
