marks the origin of the long head of the biceps brachii muscle
infraglenoid tubercle
marks the origin of the long head of the triceps brachii muscle, an equally prominent muscle on the posterior surface of the arm
scapular spine
cross the scapular body before ending at the medial border
supraspinous fossa
supra - above; the area superior to the spine; an attachment for the supraspinatus muscle
infraspinous fossa
infra - beneath; the region inferior to the spine; an attachment for the infraspinatus muscle
humerus
the proximal bone of the upper limb
head
of the humerus; articulates with the scapula at the glenoid cavity
greater tubercle
of the humerus; a large projection at the lateral edge of the epiphysis
lesser tubercle
lies on the anterior and medial surface of the epiphysis
intertubercular sulcus (groove)
separates the greater and lesser tubercles
anatomical neck
a constriction inferior to the head of the humerus, marks the distal limit of the capsule of the shoulder joint
surgical neck
distal to the tubercles; narrow; corresponds to the metaphysis of the growing bone
shaft (body)

deltoid tuberosity
elevated; runs along the lateral border of the shaft, extending more than halfway down its length
condyle
