pmhx of dvt/pe, fhx, revent surgery, ca, immobility, pregnancy, bcp, smoking, lower extremity trauma/casts

acute blockage of the coronary arteries resulting in ischemia and infarct

long-term damage to the lungs alveoli (emphysema) along with inflammation and mucous production (chronic bronchitis)

CXR

rhonchi

midline pulsatile ABD mass, ABP bruit, unequal femoral pulses, hypotension

SOB, wheezing

pna protocol must be used, doc: abs, vital signs, Sa02, mental state, blood cultures

CT A/P w/ po contrast

CT A/P with IV contrast dye

HTN, HLD, DM, Hx of TIA/CVA, smoking, FHx, CVA, AFIB

RUQ tenderness, murphy's sign

clinically

CP/pressure worse with exertion, improved by rest and NTG

CAD, HTN, HLD, DM, Smoker, Fhx, of CAD < 55y/o

fever, sore throat, ha, myalgias

minerals from the liver's bile condense to form gallstones which can irritate, inflame, or obstruct the gallbladder

pay attn to complaints and accurately doc as to not create impression of MI or PE

transient focal neuro deficits speech/vision changes, strength/vision changes, strength/sensation changes

cardiac catheterization (not done in ED)

sob, worse with lying flat, paroxysmal nocturnal dyspnea, doe

flank pain with dysuria

CT ABD/PEL without contrast or confirmed uti with tenderness on exam

weakness, lightheadedness, sob, abd pain, rectal pain

CT A/P with PO contrast, acute ABD series ABD

calf tenderness, cords, homan's sign

cost-vertebral angle tenderness

pleuritic CP with tachycardia and hypoxia

midline bone tenderness, deformaties, bilateral extremity weakness, umbness, decreased rectal tone

unilateral weakness of the upper/lower face

known DVT, Pmhx of DVT/PE, fhx, recent surgery, ca, afib, immobility, pregnancy, bcp, smoking

sob

physician will ask: home nebulizer, steriods, hx of hospitalization for asthma, hx of intubation, asthma triggers?

cough/congestion

rhinorrhea, boggy turbinates, pharyngeal erythema

sob with pedal edema and orthopnea

ABD pain, vomiting, constipation

unequal brahial or radial pulses, hypotensio

unilateral focal neurological deficits, one-sided weakness/numbness, changes in speech/vision

paroxysmal AFIB, Chronic AFIB

constricting of the airway due to inflammatio and muscular contraction of the bronchiole known as a bronchospasm

ABD US RUQ

tongue bite, confusion, HA, incontinence

electrical abnormalities in the wiring of the heart causes the top of the heart to quiver abnormally

ABD distension, bloating, no BMS

hemorrhage in the upper/lower GI tract that can lead to anemia

CP with physical exertion

lumber puncture

meningimus, nuchal rigidity

decreased breath sounds, wheezes, rales

elevated lipase test or sometimes elevated amylase

clinically

LOC, confusion, numb, weakness, HA neck/back pain

SOB, CP, ABD pain
