Allergy Shots

Epinephrine
-1:1000, IM in thigh; Should be kept in stock in case of reaction; Nurse must obtain MD order
Flu Vaccine
-Given at 6 months and older; IM in thighs up to 18months; IM in deltoid after 18mo.; Dose for
6-35months = 0.25ml; Dose for 3+=0.5ml
Flu vaccine regimen for FIRST flu vaccine under age 9
Children under 9 who have never had the flu shot will need two doses 4 weeks apart
PPD Skin Test (TB Screen)
-0.1ml intradermally given in LEFT arm; Pt must return 48-72hr; Positive result will need to
be seen by MD
Ceftriaxone (Rocephin) Antibiotic
-IM thighs with a 3cc syringe (23G needle); 500mg and 1g vials available; Inject Lidocaine 1%
into the powder according to dosage & shake
