What is MIS?

the application of people, technologies, and procedures used by decision-makers to solve business problems.

Difference between an excel worksheet and a workbook

a worksheet is the page you are working in, a workbook is all worksheets in one file- whole document

what is a relative cell reference?

when both the column and row can move- ex. C5

what is an absolute cell reference?

when neither the column nor row can move- ex. $C$5

what is a mixed cell reference?

when either the column or the row can move- ex. $C5 or C$5

What is auto-fill?

when you drag the dark plus sign and it fills empty cells with contents dependant on the one you dragged

what is the difference between a formula and a function?

formula is just = and a mathematical operation using numbers and cell referencing. functions use = and an argument ex. =sum(...)

What is a logical function?

it returns a value depending on whether the given condition is true or false

What is a look up function?

they find values in a table of data and inserts them in another location in the worksheet

what is a pivot table? when/ how are its values updated?

organizes data into a meaningful summary. updated when you select update
