What are human rights?
The basic rights given to all people.
Who are the American patriots?
People from the 13 Colonies who favored independence from Great Britain.
What is tyranny?
The unjust use of power by the French monarchy.
What is an estate?
A French social class.
Who are aristocrats?
French nobles.
Who are the bourgeoisie?
The French middle class.
What is the Estates-General?
An assembly made up of representatives from the three estates.
What is the National Assembly?
A goverment consisting of delegates from the Third Estate, who worked to make a new constitution.
What is the Declaration of Rights of Man and of the Citizen?
A constitution adopted by the National Assembly stating that goverment got its power from the citizens.
Who are the radicals?
People who favor quick and far-reaching changes.
What is the Reign of Terror?
A time when people were killed if they were respected of being disloyal to the revolution.
